It Will End In Tears!
Have you updated social media with your romantic pictures and responses include “it will end in tears? In this scene, saying “it will end in tears” translates to either, “enjoy while it lasts, or why bother.” Again, this is a matter of whether one sees the glass half full or halfway finished. No matter which of the two you are, it is an act of bravery to bring one’s intimate moments to the world to think about. I am not this adventurous.
I recollect when Facebook first came and how it announced many make-ups and break-ups. These innocent lover’s uploads quickly turned into tears as strangers commented with new information that I believe would have been best left alone. For instance, we would know of a girl in the dark about the marriage, probably the groom’s baby mama. In other cases, the brides’ dirty laundry would be hung for all to see. Yea! People never cease to amaze.
Why would someone change their Facebook or Instagram account into a “couple’s” photo? In most cases, this may be a temporary reaction to emotions. How adorable. Well, some spur-of-moment lover’s updates originate from anger, jealousy, insecurity, or manipulative behaviour. This type of publication may have a silver lining: a call to action.
Alternatively, symbols such as wedding rings express rapid changes in identity. Some announcements may be indirect. As a romantic partner, you may be tagged in the announcement. A one-sided public announcement such as this is risky. If it is a bridge of terms, it may lead to a breakdown in the relationship. You may imagine a drunk phone call and its awkwardness. Yea! It takes two to tango, friends.
